Speechless Mountain Tops

SUNDAY MARCH 6, 2016

Group Breakfast

Travel day was EXHAUSTING. When we met up on campus it was so early in the morning the sun had not even risen yet and everyone in the group was still half sleep. We had three plane rides: From Virginia to Charlotte to Chicago and then finally Utah. Fortunately, we did not have any problems traveling and made it safely. I mostly just listen to music and slept on the planes. We flew into Salt Lake City and had to drive four hours to Moab, where we stayed in a cabin in the mountains. The drive was slightly uncomfortable but the beautiful scenery of nature made up for that immensely. This was my first time ever seeing real mountains in person and it was like looking a professional photo in a nature calendar. We stop to eat at a local restaurant that had some great breakfast food and friendly service that made us feel right at home.

The cabin that we stayed in was spacious and well kept. There was a nice size kitchen that allowed us to cook breakfast and dinner for the group every night. There was a neat family room that we used for group meetings and playing games. To our surprise there was a huge furry dog who belonged to the owners of the property waiting for us to arrive. Apparently, the dog is trained to watch over the land whenever the owners allow people to stay at the cabin. Honestly the only thing the group objected to was the bad wifi connection in the house. After unloading the jeeps and picking rooms the group went hiking on a trail around the property which led to more gorgeous sight seeing.
